Malaybalay, Bukidnon - Mindanao Business and IT Solutions (Minbits) Corp sent three participants for the 4-day Mikrotik Network Bootcamp last April 23 to 26, 2021 at Malaybalay, Bukidnon. They are Joerich Cuevas, Engelbert Precillas, and Harold Polliscas.

The seminar started with the discussion on Networking Basics and RouterOS Essentials using the Mikrotik device. A network in the world of computers is said to be a collection of interconnected hosts, via some shared media which can be wired or wireless.

Other topics that were discussed are Hotspot, UserMan, CAPsMAN, and PPPOE. Hotspot is a physical location where people may obtain internet access, typically using WIFI technology. User Management (UserMan) and Controlled Access Point System Manager (CAPsMAN) allows centralization of wireless network management and if necessary, data processing. Point-to-point Protocol over Ethernet, a network protocol for encapsulating Point-to-Point Protocol frames inside Ethernet frames.

The third day was allocated for Telecom OSP Installation that covers the aspect of fiber optic theory, how it works, uses, common type of cable and connectors, hardware, tools, cable termination, polishing, insertion loss testing, OTDR, fushion machine, and other sophisticated testing equipment.

The last day was solely for the review and preparation for the certification examination for Mikrotik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA), Mikrotik Certified Routing Engineer (MTCRE), and Mikrotik Certified User Management Engineer (MTCUME). The lecture and review were handled by Engr. Roy L. Pamitalan, Certified Mikrotik Trainer. Any participants who will pass any or all of the certification examination will be featured as Mikrotik Consultant in the Mikrotik Official Website. Fortunately, all three participants from Minbits passed all the exam where Harold scored 100% in MTCNA.
